PRINTING INFORMATION / ART REQUIREMENTS :

PRINTING - Flexographic printing requires color separated art, metal engravings and rubber printing plates. Camera ready art must be color separated to exact size, and have sharp, contrasting print.
Any work required to bring artwork up to camera ready quality will be billed at $60.00 per hour. Copy will be printed in the LOWER CENTER area of all bags, unless specified otherwise.

PRINTING CAPABILITIES - We are capable of printing up to 8 colors on both sides of a Bags, and up to 100% of the Bags can be imprinted, except where noted otherwise. Process printing is available with a 25M piece minimum, and requires prior approval of artwork and a special quotation.

PLATE CHARGE ESTIMATOR - The following price chart should be used to calculate estimated plate charges for straight line art copy, when the SAME copy is printing on BOTH sides of the Bags. Please note: When printing screens, half tones, 4 color process copy, bags less than 12" wide, oversized copy (20"+), 1 side print or different copy each side, you must contact us for a quotation.

Calculate Estimated Printing Plate Costs As Follows:

1- For each color, measure the farthest dimension of print copy for width and height and add 2 inches to each dimension.
2- Multiply width by height to get total square inches per color.
3- Use the chart below to calculate the plate charge.

This calculation must be done for each color to be printed, and covers printing plates for BOTH sides of the Bags.
(assuming same copy on each side) Any copy measuring over 20" requires a special details.

ART REQUIREMENTS:

Please supply EPS vector artwork in Illustrator 11, Freehand 11.0 or a QuarkXpress 6.5 do w/mac fonts supplied, in these versions or lower, so we can create spot color separations. Please link any Photoshop files into the layout and supply hi-res versions ( 300 dpi for four color process and gray scale, 1200 dpi tiff or jpg format files in Bitmap mode for 1 color artwork). Of the source files at the full imprint size. Please create all artwork using Pantone spot colors. We can accept e-mailed artwork (please send it to ftedesco@poly-pak.com), Mac formatted cdr's and 100 mb Zip disks. Photocopies, faxes and business cards are not camera ready and will require artist services for additional touch up, stats and trapping.

Enlargements and reductions will also entail a fee.

Art may be supplied on disk prepared for MAC format. On multi colored artwork, please provide a composite showing color breakdown. We are currently able to accept art on the following MAC formatted programs:

Adobe Illustrator CS or earlier
Adobe Photoshop CS or earlier
Freehand Macromedia MX or earlier

Quark Xpress 6.5 or earlier

If other than the software mentioned above, save with EPD preview on a disk. Outside service may be necessary and a cost estimate will be provided.

Note: A fee will be incurred to output artwork supplied on disk. Please have a black and white hard copy and/or color output proof accompany your disk marked with any important information needed for output.

When fonts are used, you must include the screen and printer fonts used for the job on the disk OR create outlines for all type in Illustrator.

Maximum of 8 print colors can be used.

Screens and solids, even in the same colors, must be separated.
Example: 185 Red and a 30% 185 red screen will become a 2-color job.
Prepare art file and output with the solid red on a separate plate from the red
screen. Add trap to the screen and have the solid overprint.
If preferred, choose a lighter color PMS at 100% to replace the desired screen color.

All screens printing with solids need to be at a 55 line up to a maximum of 65 lines. NOTE: we cannot blend screens to achieve graduated blends of color.

When preparing artwork for trapping of colors (overlap colors maintain registration), there must be no less than a 3/64" trap. Create trap at 3/64" or with a 3 to 4 pt. stroke rule. Caution should be taken when trapping certain ink colors which may create another undesired color when printed. Please request an ink drawdown of colors in question to confirm result of trapping.

Printable image area is generally 1/2" from sides of the Bags and 1/2" from the bottom of the Bags. Start the image down 4" from the top on Patch Handle bags to avoid the handle and seal area, and generally 2 1/2" down for all other types of bags.

Bleeds off the edges of the Bags require 3/4" bleed off both sides, as well as the top and bottom.

Please note we have an experienced in house art staff, well trained in the complete preparation of artwork to meet the specifications of our machinery and printing processes. DISTRIBUTOR LOGOS - Upon request, we will print distributors logo in the bottom gusset of Bags. Assuming simple three line copy (logos not included), we will set type and make a set of logo plates for Single Wall and Double Wall bags for a one time charge of $100.00 (K).

UNION LOGOS - As a union shop, upon request, we will include a union logo on all bags manufactured domestically.

EYESPOTS - Some bags will be printed with a small, solid, rectangular box in the lower corner of both sides of the Bags. This box, or eyespot, helps assure the accuracy of Bags size during manufacturing.

COPY / INK COLOR CHANGES - The following changes made during the printing of bags, require a minimum of 3000 pieces per change:

Ink Color Change @ $150.00 (G) per change.
Full Printing Plate Change (for print image larger than 2"x3") @ $150.00 (G) per change.
Slug Printing Plate Change (for print image 2"x3" or smaller) @ $80.00 (G) per change.

IMPRINT INK COLORS FOR " REGAL" TOTES :
Colors listed below are standard imprint colors. Printing on dark colored items may require a flash of white behind the image to avoid contaminations.

White, Orange 165, Maroon 202, Blue 283, Yellow C, Red 189, Purple 268, Black, Gray 429, Navy 281, Yellow 123, Red 200, and Reflex Blue.

INK COLORS FOR PAPER SHOPPING BAGS
Any standard PMS color.

Note: ink colors on Natural Kraft bags may contaminate.
